If the media was ever going to allow any image bands to become well known/"popular" then they would have acknowledged what was going on in the early 1990s rather than promoting grunge.

Face it, a band that wears eyeliner is now called "glam," no matter what they sound like and even look like otherwise.

'Glam' means it must take you at least two hours to get ready to go down to the corner shop for a pint of milk and a paper.

Rubbish, being glam meant being up all night on speed so that you didnt have to re-do your hair in the morning when you went down the shop for your Marlboros in the morning!!

Never taken it, Squire. Numerous experiences have shown me that it changes perfectly reasonable people into absolute cunts.

Trust me, I was a perfect example that what you are saying!! I was as big a cunt as you could get and a lot of it was down to speed (Gunstone will vouch for that).
I was an arse before speed, but an affable arse.

With hindsight its very easy to see it was all a load of bollocks.

<font size="4" face="Arial">You want me as a character witness?????

My initial attraction to glam was from being into regulation metal but then along came GnR and it became clear that you could have long hair and not look shit. Thankfully the music wasn't bad either, although there soon followed the Warrants of this world and it all went downhill, so it was just as well there were plenty of older bands that I was too young to know about at the time (Hanoi/Dolls/Hollywood Brats etc) that you could turn up and drown out all the other crap that was crossing the Atlantic.

Along with Mark I put a band together, got ourselves out and about - and the fact that I also became of interest to the laydeez as a result was of course an added bonus ....

PS: Mark - you weren't that bad. No, really. Honest. Well, apart from ......
